In September 2024, we took one of the most exciting steps in the history of Inner Voice - we went beyond the borders of Bulgaria and became part of the Street Games Festival Interspaces in Tartu, Estonia.
Our team was one of 10 international game creators approved to present their projects as part of the Tartu 2024 - European Capital of Culture program. The participants included game creators from all over the world - the USA, Italy, Japan, Germany, Austria, Poland, Russia, and Estonia, and we proudly represented Bulgaria.
Games and Stories in the Streets of Tartu
During the festival, we presented two urban quest games that showcased the diversity and potential of the experiences we create.
- 🎯 Agents of SOKOTO - A mysterious scenario with 13 riddles in the heart of Tartu, interaction with physical props and actors from our team
- 📱 QR Hunt - A game specially created for the event, in which participants embarked on a hunt for QR codes in the center of Tartu. At each location, a new riddle awaited them, leading them to the next clue. This game became a favorite of the audience.
Tartu Became a Playground
The festival took place in the heart of Tartu - European Capital of Culture in 2024. For three days, its streets came alive with adventures, missions, and stories told through various games from around the world.
The festival organizers, the Polish team Departament Gier, known for creating over 100 board and urban games, brought together international game creators and local experts to create experiences that explore interpersonal and cultural connections in an original and entertaining way.
What This Means for Us
Being part of the Street Games Festival Interspaces was not just our first international participation - it was confirmation that our games are of a high standard. The festival proved to us that games connect people and cultures, and whether you are in Plovdiv, Tartu, or New York, fun, exploration, and curiosity are the same everywhere.
We are proud that we were able to showcase our experience and growth - from the time of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019, to the stage of Tartu 2024. For us, this was further proof that Bulgarian urban quest games have a place among the best in the world and that our inner voice can be heard far beyond the borders of Bulgaria (pun intended, of course).
